My Picture House

Here are just a few things which I’ve worked on in the past, some for commercial use others were for me alone and the rest is in working development.

I’m a designer in development, meaning I’m still trying to find my speciality, I like drawing, sketching, working in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but lately I’ve really enjoyed working in ‘digital media’ i.e. video capturing, editing, composting and VFX compositing. I’m trying to get better in video editing software like After Effects, Flash and web animation, but I’m also trying to break into the 3rd Dimension with 3D Studio Max 2010, Google Sketchup and Z-brush from Pixologic at the moment (wkd packages by the way!!!) So I dabble in a bit of everything but I wanna get better at them all. I have high hopes of breaking into the industry somewhere and maybe one day sitting in a darkened theatre and seeing my name scrolling upwards on a motion picture credit reel.

--CD cover: Sawsound – Two Sided Circle--

Back in the summer of 2009 I had just started using Adobe Illustrator (Ai) and was getting the hang of it pretty well. My housemate asked me to design a CD cover art image for his band’s debut EP, the group, Sawsound (who are a really good alternative music group by the way: www.SAWSOUND.co.uk, check them out.) were very creative and experimental and they wanted a lot of that expressed within the cover art. The concept attempts to bring in elements from the cosmos and the universe and beams its splendour into our mortal lives, a very powerful statement.

--Mini series: Mini-Marvel--

You know when you read a comic book and at the end of it there would be that goofy comic sketch? I used to love those silly moments at the end of an epic story and I used to think up my own all the time. I finally got around to drawing one of my own in Photoshop (Ps) a few months back. It’s nothing special but I found it funny and who knows, I may even do a few more in the future…

 --Graphic Novel: conceptual designs--

The way I like to work is I usually take on several projects for other people and spend a few weeks working closely with the ‘clients’ to produce something great that we can both really appreciate. When I’m not working like that I usually have a sister project sitting in the wings where I’d work on it from scratch and develop it in my own spare time. I hadn’t done this for a while since I chose to pick up a few new skills in certain computer programs.

My latest project is developing my new graphic novel set in the distant future of Earth, a totalitarian siege from a secret militia takes place on the last great city that was once named London…oh and there are butt loads of robots and cyborgs for my main character to fight against. At the moment I’m just in conceptual mode where I drew these ages ago but only recently tried inking them in Illustrator (Ai) to get a more solid idea of how they would turn out. I’m aiming to paint them soon, then later on build a few 3D character models based on their designs.

People with opinions and constructive crits about my pieces are always welcomed to leave comments to me about anything.
